Indoor & Outdoor Fun with Eggs
Egg Rolling
This game is played at the White House in the USA every year. Find a hill, pick a colored egg, and roll it down the hill. The egg reaching the base of the hill first is the winner. Steep hills make great races, but slow climbing.
Egg Bowling
Color some boiled eggs and leave one white. Roll the white one into the center of a room and take turns to see who can roll their egg closest to the white egg.
Egg and Spoon Races
Eggs, spoons and an area to run are all you need for this game. Variations could include relays and obstacle courses. Balance an egg in a spoon and see if you can reach the finish line before your egg falls off.
Knock 'ems
Similar to the English game of knockems, this game is played with each player choosing an egg and tapping them on a partner's egg. The first egg to crack loses, and the winner goes on to challenge other winners in a knock out competition until there is only one egg left.
Who's Got the Egg?
This game is best played with 16 or more but can be played by smaller groups. Divide the group into 2. Give each group four eggs - plastic or hard boiled. (If your group is smaller, use 2 or 3 eggs.) Each group must pick four players to hide the eggs in their back pockets or wherever else in their clothing it can be hidden. After the teams have hidden the eggs, they line-up facing the opposing team. Alternating turns between the 2 teams, players go down the line calling out the name of the opponent that they think may have the egg. When a player with a hidden egg is called, he or she must reveal the egg. The first team to uncover their opponents' four eggs wins.
