Memorial Day Commemoration

"Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe to assure the survival and the success of liberty."
John F. Kennedy

For many people, Memorial Day marks the beginning of summer fun and Memorial Day Sales. To honor America's men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice for their country, consider observing Memorial Day by including one or more of the following activities in your Memorial Day plans.

  • Visit Memorials
  • Participate in a "National Moment of Remembrance" at 3:00 p.m. to pause and ponder the true meaning of the day
  • Visit cemeteries and place flags or flowers on the graves of our fallen heroes
  • Fly the U.S. Flag at half-mast until noon
  • Renew a pledge to aid the widows, widowers, and orphans of our veterans and to aid the disabled veterans
