No matter how we define "romantic," we all know that Valentine’s Day celebrates the tradition of Love. Romantic gestures are not just passionate gestures limited to those closest to us. Romantic gestures can be extended to anyone who plays a significant role in your life: parents, children, siblings, friends, neighbors, co-workers and yes, even strangers. Valentine’s Day is great day to perform “random acts of kindness”.
To help you find your own unique way to share Valentine's Day, we’ve put together a list of fun and "romantic" ways to show the special people in your life how much you care.
For Your Sweetheart...
- Breakfast in bed
- Make your sweetheart’s favorite meal, or take your sweetheart out for a special dinner.
- Send your Valentine flowers at work. Even a single hand-delivered flower will embrace his or her heart.
- Do something unexpected! Show up unexpectedly and take your Valentine out for lunch.
- Send a gift basket of symbolic or treasured items, your sweetheart would not buy for his or herself.
- Embroider “I Love You” on his pillowcase. Ok, you could also us a water resistant marker!
- Write “I Love You” in lipstick or shaving cream on the mirror. You could also tape a heart with the words “I Love You” on the mirror; if you prefer an easier clean up.
- Buy several Valentine Day cards and have them visible in different places. Some examples would be the sock drawer, the windshield wiper on the car or the kitchen cabinet.
For Family Members and Friends...
- Hide a Valentine in a lunch box, briefcase, or on a desk. Imagine the smile when the surprise is found during the day.
- Pass out chocolate kisses just to let everyone know you do care and appreciate them.
- Make your children Valentine shaped cinnamon French toast for breakfast or heart shaped cookies for a special treat.
- Seal all your Valentine messages with initials or drawings that require the recipient to figure out the meaning. For example: A.F.F (A Friend Forever) or S.W.A.K. (Sealed With A Kiss).
